RESEARCH
FELLOWSHIP

ARTISTS ABROAD is committed to advancing the field of visual arts through academic research. Each year the fellowship provides academics and artists the time, resources and funding to complete projects ranging from documentary films to academic publications. Proposed research projects must align with the ARTISTS ABROAD mission by addressing such issues as visual art, education, and global development. The Research Fellowship inspires new directions in creative expression, strengthens the arts community, and broadens public interest in and understanding of contemporary art. Research fellowships are explicitly for artist research and do not require recipients to create or exhibit artwork. Consequently, studio space is not provided.
